POLICE OFFICER (DESK CORPORAL)

Receiving telephone and in person requests for law enforcement support. Searching, processing and maintaining accountability of all prisoners and their property. Performing a variety of traffic control duties. Reviewing all police reports and supporting documentation for accuracy. Obtaining verbal and written statements. Providing law enforcement services within military housing areas, recreation areas, and commercial establishments. Ensuring the dispatching of police personnel. Providing on the job training to new employees. Providing inventory of law enforcement equipment prior to assuming shift and account for all property. Who May Apply:
US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Qualified candidates for the Police Officer (Desk Corporal) position must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service which includes (1) Enforcing a range of law enforcement activities, which involve responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property; (2) Insuring the protection of personnel, information, operations, and critical assets and (3) Preparing accurate and concise police reports while following established guidelines. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
