This Student Trainee (Financial Management) position is located at G8 of CECOM.

The Department of the Army Pathways Interns may be converted to a permanent position within 120 days of successful completion of the program.
Who May Apply:
Positions are open to current students who have graduated from an accredited high school, have enrolled in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Position(s) will be filled under the Department of the Army Pathways Intern Program.
The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.
The Department of the Army Pathways Interns may be converted to a permanent position within 120 days of successful completion of the program.
To be eligible for conversion to a permanent or term position, Interns must:
Be a U.S. Citizen
Complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program
Complete their degree or certificate requirements
Meet the Office of Personnel Management's qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted
Meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Participant's Agreement, and;
Perform their job successfully as documented through performance evaluations and/or completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP)

As a student trainee, you will receive on-the-job training in the Student Trainee (Financial Management) . You will perform specific and varied work assignments incidental to the organizational segment to which you are assigned. You will make practical use of the training received during the preceding formal academic period and on-the-job in performing such duties, observing methods and gaining experience. Gathers, extracts, reviews, verifies, and consolidates basic narrative information and statistical data needed in the development and presentation of budget estimates and requests. Assists analysts in researching, summarizing, and compiling data involving obligations, expenses and object class information. Follows guidance, procedural instructions, and report formats for budget submission. Prepares preliminary basic budget estimates and reviews justifications for a few relatively stable program and/or program support activities. Crosschecks the accuracy of budget and program data in related budgetary forms, schedules, and reports. Notifies supervisor or analyst of suspected budget problems.
To qualify, applicants must possess, at a minimum, the following education:
Completion of at least one full academic year of education above high school for the GS-03 level.
Completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school or obtained an associate's degree for the GS-04 level.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
