About the Position:
This Student Trainee (Administrative and Office Support), GS-0399-03/04 position is located at CECOM, within one of the various directorates.
If selected below the full performance level, the incumbent(s) may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements of the Pathway Program, and upon recommendation by management. Neither conversion nor promotion under this Program is guaranteed.

Positions are open to current students who have graduated from an accredited high school, have enrolled in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.

The Department of the Army Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring federal careers through a job with the Department of Army.

As a student trainee, the incumbent will assist senior specialists and supervisor in conducting program functions. At the direction of the supervisor and assistance from senior specialists the incumbent develops and coordinates, a variety of basic/routine reports, staff actions, correspondence, program briefings and other related actions. Assigned tasks are to increase the employee's knowledge and function of program analysis, and provide a general familiarity with governing policies, procedures and regulations. Incumbent receives intensive on-the-job training in carefully selected assignment to provide experience in the application of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of program analysis.
To qualify, applicants must possess, at a minimum, the following education:
Completion of at least one full academic year of education above high school for the GS-03 level.
Completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school or obtained an associate's degree for the GS-04 level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
