SAIC is looking for a Senior Technical Writer/Editor to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role will be primarily focused on writing, editing or revising a variety of technical documents such as reports, procedures and brochures.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
The will be responsible for editing, proofreading and providing writing support on documents and sections prepared by leads to create a document's 'single voice' consistency for communications to the customer. Responsibilities include checking drafts for format, clarity and overall cohesiveness; ensuring documents meet editorial and government specifications; and adhering to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. This resource interfaces with project teams and other groups in coordinating/preparing documentation, reviewing rough drafts, making suggestions, and taking/distributing meeting minutes in support of the task leads. This resource will also have the responsibility to provide general support in transcribing confidential or technical information, take and distribute meeting minutes, and other duties in a timely manner in support of Program/Project Managers, Task Leads or staff. Performs routine and non-routine tasks including special projects. Will interact with other staff to gather, supply, and/or coordinate information.
Qualifications:
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
BA in English or Technical Writing preferred and five or more years of experience. MS counts for 2 years experience.
Three or more years of working experience with Microsoft Office.
SECRET clearance required
