POSITION/PROGRAM
Summary:
The developer will be responsible for supporting the program, and other direct and indirect tasks as well as reports to the lead software development engineer. Under general supervision, primary responsibilities will include software development and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems. The candidate must have the ability to generate code according to software coding guidelines and industry best practices; must produce software documentation and run software through unit test procedures.

Produce software documentation and run software through unit test procedures.
Interact daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups and be comfortable with (knowledge/experience) common Software and System Development Life Cycles.
Secondary responsibilities may include system administration as it relates to installation, implementation, operations, and maintenance of hardware and software associated with servers, Local Area Networks (LAN's), Wide Area Networks (WAN's) and associated communications. This will include Windows 2003 and 2008 servers, Unix/Linux-based servers, server application software.

Bachelor's Degree in a computer engineering/computer science or related technical discipline and 1
year of related experience. Recent graduates will be considered, with internships, course work, and relevant systems background in lieu of direct experience.
Requires knowledge of Java programming language other object oriented language (e.g. C#, C++, etc.).
Must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Software development knowledge and experience with web application development and web-based client/server applications.
Ability to design, document, implement and debug applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML5, relational databases and other web technologies.
Ability to design, document, and develop software functionality of new and existing UI software modules.
Experience using UI components such as GWT and/or Java Swing or similar frameworks.
Knowledge with the following technologies:
Multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, Linux, etc.).
Casic web technologies including HTML5, CSS, XML, SOAP, WSDL/XSD, JavaScript and JQuery.
At least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
Casic IP network technologies (TCP/IP, UDP) and socket programming
Basic UNIX based shell scripting (BASH)
Web application technologies, such as Apache Tomcat,Redhat JBoss, Oracle Weblogicetc.
JSR 168 & 268 Java Portlet Specification
Sencha and extJS/GXT web frameworks developing & utilizing SOAP & REST web services
CPU/Memory profiler tools such as Yourkit Java Profiler
A version control system (e.g. Git, SVN, CVS)
Build management tool (e.g. Ant, Maven, Gradle, Buildr)
Host operating systems such as Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
Virtual Machine Hosting Environments such as VMware or VirtualBox
Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse etc.
JUnit or other unit testing framework.
Knowledge of an application installer package (InstallShield, InstallAnywhere, etc.).
Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).
