The Unmanned Systems Division in the Airborne Systems Intelligence Organization (ASIO), Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group (SRG) of Leidos has a career opening for Information Assurance/Security Engineer in Aberdeen, MD.
POSITION
Summary:
The job of the Information Assurance/Security Engineer is to support the full spectrum of SRBU activities specifically focused on security systems engineering and certification and accreditation to include baseline documentation, reaccreditation activities and other IA activities as required. As a senior Security Engineer (SE), the candidate will coordinate cross functional efforts to accomplish assigned tasks and will be responsible for leadership activities as required. Employ standard methods, processes and tools to accomplish analysis, problem diagnosis and solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning, and related activities. This position will Primarily support APG; however, this position will also support Unmanned Systems Division manager objectives as required. Telecommuting authorized. 25% - 50% travel required. Travel will occur primarily in the CONUS; however, there is a possibility for OCONUS travel.
PRIMARY REPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to functional areas including requirements analysis, implementation planning, third party coordination, integration and test, sustainment, documentation, deployment, and system assessment.
Interface with Government personnel to identify required activities, perform collaborative planning, review deliverables, and resolve SE issues.
Expected to travel as part of the site installation, and have demonstrated ability to diagnose and correct IA issues identified during testing.
Security engineering or information assurance field to include the ability to conduct formal reviews with the customer as well as other accreditation stakeholders.
Previous experience as a lead system engineer or lead engineer.
The position involves the following tasks:
Conducting DoD security lockdowns utilizing a variety of system scan tools (e.g., WASSP, SECSCN, and Retina), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), NIST ICD 503 and DIACAP workflows and processes.
Identifies security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, and applications.
Performs automated and manual security lockdowns and checks
Develop and maintain security engineering documentation
Supports configuration and integration project team
Prepare security packages for DAA review and approval.
Participate in certifications events to work with the appropriate agencies to obtain Approval To Operate (ATO) and Authority To Connect (ATC) approvals
Develops technical and programmatic assessments, evaluates engineering and integration initiatives and provides technical support to assess security policies, standards and guidelines.
Assists with other IA compliance activities as directed by supervisor.

Bachelors degree & 10
yrs related experience. Additional years experience and certifications may be used in lieu of a degree.
Computer proficient in MS Office products
Extensive knowledge and experience securing networking, Windows, and Unix/ Linux Based Information Systems.
Possess security certifications (CISSP, etc)
Demonstrated expertise and understanding of infrastructure COTS components and related scans and STIGS (web servers, web-enabled applications and databases including IT and systems, computing infrastructure and networking).
Demonstrated competence in security engineering and assurance principles in the design, coding, testing, and integration.
Demonstrated familiarity with the National and DoD standards guiding the development of IA policy, requirements, integration, engineering and certification and accreditation.
Demonstrated understanding of web-enabled IA standards and security features of firewall technology, ports and protocols, UNIX, DB's and MS Windows 200x systems.
Demonstrated experience with DoD accreditations.
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to a dynamic and demanding environment. Candidate must possess good communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage a security engineering effort.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system problems and develop innovative solutions.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work equally effectively as a team member with contractor and Government staffs from different locations and organizations.
Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system integration activities.
Demonstrated ability to author technical documents.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and conduct formal reviews
Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance.
