Technical Writer (Top Secret) Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD @Orchard, LLC, has been retained by a fast-growing geospatial technology services firm in their search for an experienced Technical Writer.
The Technical Writer will support the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) division of the Distributed Common Ground System - Army (DCGS-A), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and other Army systems.
As a Technical Writer, you will create and revise technical documents to include manuals, reports, brochures or articles, write and edit technical documents including reference manuals and product manuals.
You will work within a fast paced environment while engaging with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
As a Technical Writer, your responsibilities will include:
Assist in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of users manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and other reports and deliverables Analyze complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures Develops, organizes, and formats information of technical user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and other reports and deliverables Assess the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding Create or work with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process Your Background should include the following:

citizenship Top Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
Prefer TS or TS/SCI.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent and 6
years of overall experience Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures Ability to conduct quality assurance/proofing of project documents Must have a firm grasp of the written English language and the subject area around which their work centers Additional Skills/Certifications Preferred:
GEOINT/SIGINT/IMINT/GEOSPATIAL domain knowledge Knowledge of data science, big data analytics, data ingestion & manipulation, and ML Enterprise/Cloud architecture and design Familiar with DevSecOps practices and tools Deployment management tools (Puppet/Ansible/Chef/Salt Stack) Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Rackspace) Containerization (Docker, Linux containers, Jails) Geospatial domain tools and methodologies:
